ACS received the 2009 Best Practices Award "Product Quality Leadership Award for Smart Card Readers" from Frost & Sullivan in a ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on 05 Nov 2009. The award is annually bestowed upon the company that has demonstrated superior quality control over its competitors in product research and development and manufacturing.
Capitalizing on the adoption of digital information by different sectors, ACS launched the eH880 and ACR880 smart card terminals, which were designed to support multicard-based applications required in electronic healthcare programs. The eH880 is the desktop version while the ACR880 is the portable version, which supports GPRS / WiFi /Bluetooth connectivity.
ACS provided 600,000 units of ACR38 smart card readers for the Lombardia health card project in Italy. Health card holders were able to use their health cards and readers to access government online services, such as viewing and updating personal medical data, within the comforts of their own homes.
ACS was awarded two tenders to supply more than 400,000 units of ACR38 smart card readers to Spain. The reader is distributed to the citizens and corporate entities free of charge, in order to facilitate the use of the e-government system together with their electronic national identity cards.
ACR122U NFC Readers were deployed to support the EZ-Online system for Singapore's EZ-Link stored value smart card system for mass rapid transit (MRT). EZ-link cardholders were enabled to manage their new EZ-Link cards at home using ACR122U, for transactions such as checking and printing their card’s transaction history, topping up their cards from their MasterCard or Visa credit or debit accounts, and performing online shopping.
