Acceptance of the "Product Innovation Award in Telecommunications" in the 2006 D'ucoty Awards

For the second time, ACS was honoured at the D'ucoty Awards in 2006 for the "Product Innovation Award in Telecommunications" within the South East Asia region. ACS received the award during the 2006 CardEx Asia event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Acceptance of the "World Business Development Strategy Leadership" Award from Frost & Sullivan

Frost & Sullivan's "World Business Development Strategy Leadership" award is annually given to a company that has demonstrated excellence in business development within the industry. In 2006, ACS was chosen as the final winner for the PC-linked smart card reader market, after it topped a series of assessment by market participants, customers, and suppliers.

Compliance with the RoHS standard

Since  01 Jan 2006, all ACS products sold to the market, including smart card and smart card readers, have been compliant with the requirements laid down in the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC. It ensures that all ACS products do not contain any of the hazardous substances listed in the articles of the RoHS directive.

Launch of PC-Linked Readers with Mass Storage product line

Recognizing the growing popularity of flash memory for data storage applications, ACS introduced its first PC-Linked Reader with Mass Storage device, ACR100 SIMFlash. A USB token that combines a SIM-sized smart card reader and a flash drive, ACR100 SIMFlash was designed to access SIM-sized smart cards for applications like GSM management and VoIP, and to enable users to store software application data through the device’s mass storage capability.

Establishment of its branch office in Canada

On November 1, 2006, ACS opened its new sales office in Ontario, Canada, a strategic location for ACS to better penetrate the North American market, particularly Canada.
