ACR30 became the world's first USB PC-linked smart card reader certified with the EMV Level 1 standard.  This standard requires smart card readers to read and write onto a certain range of ISO7816-compliant smart cards.

As SIM-sized smart cards became common in use, especially in the mobile phone market, ACS developed its first SIM-sized smart card reader, ACT30, to cater to this growing market demand.

ACS developed its first two Software Development Kits (SDK) – AC Kit and BioSIMKey – to facilitate the application development of its readers,  ACR30 and ADT60, respectively.
